Local leaders have asked the local government ministry to speed up the urbanisation of towns. Through their umbrella organisation, the Urban Authorities Association of Uganda, they pointed out that it would be more expensive for the Government to rebuild or renew messed up towns.

Please endevour to carry out your survey in relation to the current reforms made in urban councils of Uganda. By this year there will be an inreament in Local Revenue generation in Urban council from Property tax, Hotel Tax and Local service tax this will enhance service delivery in this urban councils this means sanitation will have to improve and proper structual plans undertaken.
Hi Taremwa, thanks for your comment. Do you think sanitation will come out as a priority amongst the urban councils if the grant/disposalable income (such as tax revenue) is not somehow earmarked for sanitation? Do the city councils get any conditional grants to improve sanitation?
