South Africa will host the 12th annual World Toilet Summit in Durban from 3-6 December 2012. The South African Toilet Organization (SATO) is co-organsing this annual World Toilet Organization (WTO) event.
The main theme of the Summit is African Sanitation: Scaling Up – Dignity for All.
There will be two programme tracks, each with two sub-themes:
Track 1: Sanitation & Human Rights
- UN 2010 Declaration. Water & Sanitation as a Human Right
- Gender & Sanitation
Track 2: CLTS, Health & Hygiene
- The importance of sustainable health and hygiene practises (both domestic and schools)
- The importance of Community Led Total Sanitation mobilization.
Abstract deadline: 22 June 2012
The summit organisers further aim to launch the African Toilet Design Competition on the April 1st, 2012.
Over 1000 delegates and exhibitors are expected to participate in the Summit.
