The Sanitation Marketing Community of Practice (www.sanitationmarketing.com) managed by WaterAid Australia on behalf of the Australian WASH Reference Group is pleased to announce our fourth webinar! wateraid-australia

Webinar 4: Sanitation Marketing and Community-led Total Sanitation (CLTS)

Date: Thursday 7th February 2013

Time: | 8:00am (London) | 9:00am (Geneva) | 11:00am (Nairobi) | 3:00pm (Jakarta, Indonesia) | 7:00pm (Melbourne, Australia) Check my time zone

Presenters: This session will be facilitated by Oliver Jones, Programme Officer, The Global Sanitation Fund (GSF), Water Supply & Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC). Presenters include Ulemu Chiluzi from Plan Malawi and Julian Kyomuhangi from the Government of Uganda.

Content: The session will look to harness the experience of the presenters and participants in relation to the integration of the SanMark and CLTS approaches. It is recognized that there is much more to be learnt about the relationship between and potential synergies of these two approaches. While there are some lessons emerging from different programmes, there is still a limited evidence-base and as such a chance to explore areas of priority for further action research. The session will look to identify the emerging questions practitioners are asking in relation to the effective implementation of these two approaches together.

The Global Sanitation Fund (GSF) is currently supporting a number of programmes which aim to combine supply and demand side approaches at scale. These programmes have been designed in a collaborative manner with a range of sanitation and hygiene stakeholders building on past experiences and lessons learned. The GSF will share its approach to developing at-scale models that incorporate SanMark and CLTS, and also some of the initial lessons emerging from the initiation of the programmes.

Agenda:The webinar will run for about 1.5 hours with an opportunity for questions throughout the session. We will commence with a quick run-through of how to use the webinar technology.

Please allow about 15 minutes before the webinar begins to test your audio and ensure your computer has the correct software.

We will quickly go through this at the start of the webinar, but it is important to do this before hand.

Technology requirements:
If you have not used Elluminate before you need to:
1. Make sure you have the right software: Ask a helpful IT colleague if you have Java on your computer if you don’t know. If not, you’ll need to download this to access the webinar. You can apparently get a free download here.
2. Make sure you have a headset available to be plugged in, and try to configure it so it’s set up correctly. If you’re not sure, don’t worry – we’ll cover this in the explore elluminate session, i.e. testing out the microphone and audio.

If you have any technical questions please feel free to contact tanya.stelmach@wateraid.org.au
