The Korean city of Suwon has opened what it says is “the world’s first toilet theme park“.

The Restroom Cultural Park has a museum displaying Roman style loos, European-style bedpans, and ancient Korean flush toilets, as well as fun facts about human waste and a sculpture garden dedicated to squatting figures.

The BBC’s Seoul correspondent Lucy Williamson visited the park to explore South Korea’s fascination with the art and routine of the water closet.

    Dear All,
The proposed Toilet Theme Park in South Korea is actually not the World’s First.
Because, in the year 2005, one Sanitation Park was established in Guwahati, Assam, India and it still exists. The Sanitation Park in Assam has included different technological options for Sanitary Toilet etc. This Park is very much helpful in different capacity development programme to give a clear picture of the technological options for sanitary toilet.

    Thanking you.

  2. Actually, Korea has a smaller toilet museum located within Hosu Park in Ilsan, Goyang. Built underground, it has a stairway leading to several rooms containing a number of ‘receptacles’ from throughout history. I personally visited it in early 2004 and it was still there when I left the country in 2011.
